Mark Morgan

Trombone, Baritone,Tuba & Trumpet

Mark Morgan is the bass trombonist with the Capital Wind Symphony and is a member of the chamber ensemble Tres Bone. A graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Mr. Morgan has studied with Ron Borror, Martin Hughes, Ed Zadrozny, Craig Mulcahy and Natalie Mannix. He also works as a private teacher for aspiring brass players and young professionals. He is an adjunct professor at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, and is a brass coach at Cabin John, Hallie Wells, Robert Frost and Hoover Middle Schools and continues as an active freelance musician in the D.C. area. He was a member of the Arlington Symphony and has performed with the Charlotte Symphony, Virginia Symphony, Mclean Orchestra and many others throughout the Charlotte and DC regions. Mr. Morgan has played in a number of recordings, most notably with Cuban African Alliance’s Grammy-nominated album, “Caribbean Jazz Project.” Other recordings include “Steve Williams & Jazz Nation with Eddie Daniels” and the Navy Band Commodores’, “Three Shades of Blue” He served as tenor and bass trombonist with the U.S Navy Band from 1994 to 2010. Previously he was a brass instructor at the Armed Forces School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia.
